The NEW American Indian Speakers Bureau

The American Indian Speakers Bureau (AISB) has been established, in part, to offer more chances for program participation, professional development and to help students gain a better understanding of their culture as well as insight into professional areas with Native American experts-in-the-field presenting on their expertise and experience. Events are open to Native CPS Students and Parents.

The AISB is open to CPS Teachers to assist with professional development opportunities and to help inform them on Native American Cultures for their own classroom use. Teacher will also have the opportunity to bring these speakers into their classrooms. Teachers will also have opportunities to earn CDPUs by attending select AISB events, which can include panel discussions and teacher focus groups and roundtable discussions.

The AISB is scheduling one speaker a month throughout the 2009 - 2010 school year. The speakers are Native American with vast experience in their respective fields. Please continue to check here for updated schedules. All speaker events and panel discussions are free and open to the public. RSVP is recommended. For more information please call 773.534.2417.
